Stranded Liberal

I've tried being open minded and dating Republicans, and the thing about Republicans is, they're awful. I'm sorry to say it, but there it is. In Arizona, they're usually some brand of strange religious fanatic too. Other than that, I'm a law student, first year, I live in Arizona now but I'd like to move back to Chicago within 5-8 years. I love other cultures and learning about them. I can swear at you in Spanish, Italian, and Arabic, I can also say "I love you" in 6 languages. If only I knew how to say useful things like "Excuse me, I'm bleeding profusely, where is the nearest hospital?" I love to joke around but know when to be serious. I'm a Chicago Cubs fan, I like to read, mostly novels but the occasional interesting cultural or historical non-fiction. I love indie rock, but I will listen to almost any kind of music. My favorite band of the moment is The Arcade Fire. Ok, what I'm looking for: a man, preferably taller than me, enjoys having actual dates where we arrange in advance to meet up. It's not so important to me what we do as much as that we make time to see each other. The biggest qualities I'm looking for are intelligence and kindness. I have no qualms in saying that I have a tendency to be too cynical, so someone who's lighter and brigher than me and could tolerate the occasional eye roll would be ideal. Obviously, friends first is probably a good way to go, but with a view to getting to be more than friends before very long.
